George V sterling silver playing card box. Made by S. Blanckensee & Son Ltd in Birmingham in 1923. Pillar on raised and spread base; cover hinged and tabbed with gently curved top. Sides glazed and faced with royalty: one king, two queens, and jack. All suits represented. Box interior cedar-lined and partitioned; contains fragments of bridge scorepads. Cover interior gilt.
