Set of 12 Edwardian Art Nouveau Martel silver demitasse holders and saucers. Made by Gorham in Providence in 1920. Each holder: Curved and tapering bowl; high-looping handle and raised and lobed foot. Acid-etched rondel monogram. Each saucer: Deep well and wide and tapering shoulder. Chased floral garlands. Handles leaf-wrapped. Twisted fluting and wispy, irregular rims. Hand-hammering. With 12 porcelain liners of which 10 with patterned gilt and plain cobalt bands and two with plain gilt bands. Fully marked including fineness stamp (9584), makers stamp, and pattern codes PVR (holders) and PVS (saucers). One liner unmarked. All other liners have makers stamp (Lenox). Eight have no. 1208/MIZ.
