Art Deco silver coffee and tea set. Made by Jean Puiforcat in France, ca 1930. This set comprises coffeepot, teapot, creamer, sugar, and tongs. Faceted bowl and graduated lobed base. V-spout (pot spouts covered). Cover stepped (pot covers hinged); stained-wood disc finial. Handles same; pot and creamer handles c-scroll and sugar handles bracket. Creamer and sugar interior gilt washed. Tongs u-form with stepped terminals and chamfered rectilinear jaws. All pieces except coffeepot have engraved block monogram (LB). Marks include "Jean E Puiforcat" stamp and 950-fineness stamp (Minerva head). Very good condition. Dimensions: Coffeepot: H 6 1/2 x W 8 3/8 x D 4 1/2 in. Teapot: H 5 1/4 x W 9 x D 5 1/4 in.
