Lap Over Edge sterling silver fish slice. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Tapering stem with applied dragonflies hovering over eddying water represented by acid-etched whiplash scrolls. Blade long and shaped with chased and pointille tendrils. Allover spot hammering. Interlaced script monogram engraved on terminal verso. A rare serving piece in the Japonesque pattern that was patented in 1880. Production ceased before 1904. Fully marked including makers stamp, pattern no. 908, and directors letter M (1873-91).
